Lake Elsinore Gang Task Force Aids Riverside County Crackdown

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A joint law enforcement operation conducted Thursday to crack down on gang-related crime in Riverside County netted 38 arrests, and deputies from Lake Elsinore were part of the effort, the sheriff's department announced.

The one-day operation took place in the Hemet/San Jacinto Valley area. Nineteen law enforcement task forces and special teams from across the county participated, including the Perris/Lake Elsinore Gang Task Force.

Law enforcement teams from Corona, Menifee, Murrieta and Temecula also joined (see full list below).

The operation consisted of heavy patrolling and traffic stops, warrant services, and compliance checks on 42 parolees and probationers, according to the sheriff's department.

Thirty-eight people were arrested during the operation on suspicion of various crimes. Twenty-one citations were also handed out and five vehicles were impounded, the sheriff's department reported.

"Dangerous weapons" and narcotics were seized, too, the department said.
