Lake Elsinore Plans 'National Night Out'
Lake Elsinore and Wildomar residents are encouraged to participate in the community event next month.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Local police are encouraging Lake Elsinore and Wildomar residents to take part in the upcoming National Night Out. The Aug. 7 event will be celebrated in communities across the United States, with an estimated 38 million neighbors.
Billed as a "building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live," National Night Out is sponsored locally by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and nationally by the National Association of Town Watch.

- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness.
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts.
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships.
- Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
To participate, area residents are asked to simply turn on their home or porch lights at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7. Or, you can head on out to Storm Stadium for a night of fun!
