Lake Elsinore Police Announce St. Patrick's Day DUI Enforcement Operation

Police say the'll be out in full force this St. Patrick's Day weekend.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA – Lake Elsinore police are warning St. Patrick's Day revelers to steer clear of drinking and driving this weekend. Officers will be out in full force looking for drunk drivers on Friday night.

The Lake Elsinore Police Department says they will launch DUI saturation patrols.

"Lake Elsinore Police Department will deploy additional officers on special DUI Saturation Patrols specifically to stop and arrest drivers showing signs of alcohol or drug impairment," Sgt. Nathan Kaas said in a news release.

"In addition to this St Patrick’s Day enforcement effort, all police, sheriff and the CHP will be on heightened alert ready to stop and arrest any impaired driver throughout the long weekend," he said.

The operation is funded by state and federal grants.
