Lake Elsinore Storm Home Opener Sells Out
"This venue is just fantastic," Matt Reeg said as he looked out over the field and stands.
In front of a sell-out crowd, the Lake Elsinore Storm greeted the Inland Empire 66ers Thursday night at The Diamond in the first home game of the season.
The Storm didn't disappoint, claiming a 3-0 win over the visitors.
The attached photo gallery showcases Thursday night’s excitement that marked the Storm's 20th season, but it was a family from Temecula who summed up the night best. Sitting in the grass seats, the Reeg family shared a ballpark dinner together.

His wife Jessica agreed. Pointing to the couple’s 6-year-old daughter clutching a mini Thunder doll, Jessica said, “She loves it here.”

Matt described the family as "amateur Storm fans" who attend Lake Elsinore home games a handful of times every season.
“We can’t tell you who any of the players are – we just like to come here,” he said. “The games are just as good -- if not better -- than Major League Baseball.”
