Lake Elsinore Walmart Offers Free Blood Pressure, Health screenings

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Over 4,600 Walmart pharmacies across the country will offer free health screenings and low-cost immunizations Saturday, including Lake Elsinore.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Lake Elsinore and Wildomar residents can get free blood pressure, body mass index, cholesterol and glucose screenings at local stores. Some will offer vision screenings as well.

Locations across California will also offer low-cost immunizations Saturday for ailments such as: tetanus, hepatitis, Hep A and B, HPV, chicken pox and shingles (varicella), rubella, mumps, measles, whooping cough (Tdap) and COVID-19. Many of these vaccines are required for California schools.

The health-focused day, dubbed “Wellness Day,” aims to promote healthy living among American families, according to Walmart. The event is intentionally planned around the beginning of the school year.

“Wellness Day allows us to continue helping our communities live better and healthier through free screenings, affordable immunizations and other solutions,” Kevin Host, Walmart’s senior vice president of pharmacy, said in a news release. “The back-to-school season is a busy one, and these are ways we hope to provide some easy, convenient options for our customers.”

K-12 California public schools require immunizations for whooping cough (Tdap), polio, rubella, Hep A and B, chicken pox and shingles (varicella), tetanus, measles and mumps, according to the California Department of Public Health.
