Lake Elsinore, Wildomar Heat Advisory To Last Through Wednesday

The National Weather Service is reporting the heat wave will be short-lived.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Lake Elsinore, Wildomar and most of Riverside County that began at 10 a.m. Tuesday and is expected to last through 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Daytime high temperatures in Lake Elsinore and Wildomar were expected to hover just below 100, with the mercury dipping to the mid-60s overnight.

During a heat advisory, the NWS said residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the midday sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.

"Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1," the NWS said.
