Female Motorcyclist Killed On Central Avenue In Lake Elsinore

The 39-year-old resident was found injured and died in the roadway. It is the second fatality in the area within the last month.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A female motorcyclist was killed in a crash Monday morning near a Lake Elsinore intersection, and the other driver involved in the wreck was arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to the sheriff's department.

Dianne Gutierrez, 39, of Lake Elsinore, died on Central Avenue, about 177 feet east of Dexter Avenue. The coroner's bureau reported that she was injured at 4:46 a.m. and was pronounced dead minutes later.

The other driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and was later arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to Sgt. Robert Martinez.

Just before 1 a.m. Oct. 4, deputies assigned to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station were called to a major-injury crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the area of Dexter Avenue and 11th Street.

When deputies arrived, they learned that the driver had transported the pedestrian to a hospital in their vehicle.

Deputies found the two; the driver was cooperative with the investigation and was not arrested, according to the sheriff's department.

The pedestrian, whose identity was not released, died the following day.
