Lake Elsinore's Main Street To Close For Oct. 15 'Trunk Or Treat'

A portion of the downtown corridor and its surrounding streets will close to motorists so families can safely enjoy the carnival atmosphere.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Approximately 5,000 people are expected to turn out in downtown Lake Elsinore for the 2021 "Trunk or Treat" event next month. To keep everyone safe during the free Halloween carnival, Main Street will be closed to vehicles.

In early September, City Council members gave a greenlight to the street closure for the event that takes place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 15.

However, Main Street will be closed between Heald Avenue and Lakeshore Drive from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. that day. The added time is needed to accommodate the setup and tear-down of games, mazes, crafts, vendors and decorated trunks full of goodies.

Side streets will also be closed to prevent vehicle traffic from flowing onto Main Street (see attached map below).

The street closures will be enforced by Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station deputies.
