Lake Elsinore's New Public Works Administrative Building Unveiled
The city is now looking ahead to its first-ever Emergency Operations Center.
LAKE ELSINORE, CA — The City of Lake Elsinore held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday afternoon to celebrate the completion of its new Public Works Administrative building and to look forward to the city's first-ever Emergency Operations Center.
Construction at 521 N. Langstaff Street began in November 2020. In February 2019, the city purchased an old 6,000-square-foot industrial building on a 9,000-square-foot lot at the site for $575,000. The building once housed a cabinet-making company. The structure was retrofitted and now has two stories that house offices, conference rooms, staff locker rooms, and a training room. An outdoor deck was also added on. The total project cost was $2.4 million, according to the city.
Temecula-based STK Architecture Inc. was contracted to build out the exterior, and Los Angeles-based Bluespace Interiors was hired for work inside.

Due to COVID-19, the project faced numerous delays in securing the supplies, materials, landscaping and furniture for the facility, according to the city. There are still a few minor improvements pending, but the city's public works team is expected to be fully moved into the new building by January.
With the completion of the Public Administrative building, the city is looking forward to planning its first-ever Emergency Operations Center that could be located at the site.
