Lakeside High Leads Local Charge Into CIF Playoffs
Baseball and softball postseason pairings released; Lakeside High has busy week ahead.
Lakeside High’s baseball and softball teams have learned their fate for the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 playoffs.
The Lancers open with a Tuesday wild-card game on the road against Almont League third–place finisher Bell Gardens. The winner travels to face top-seeded Bonita High on Friday.
The Sunbelt League softball champion Lady Lancers only know that they’ll be playing on Thursday. They have a home date lined up with the winner of Tuesday’s wild card tussle between Mira Costa and Righetti.
The Sunbelt League baseball champions, Temescal Canyon, are ranked #7 in the latest CIF Division 3 poll. The Titans open play Friday against the #3 entrant from the Ocean League, Hawthorne.
The California Lutheran softball team is slated to open Division 7 play Tuesday. The C-Hawks will host Calvary Baptist, the fourth place finisher in the Majestic League.
