Lakeside High School Celebrates Homecoming, Remembers A Special Leader

The Lancers lost Friday night's game, but other local schools came away with big wins.

Lakeside High School lost its homecoming football game last night against Heritage High School, 48-21, but the celebration was still grand as students, teachers, school officials, parents, and the community turned out to support the Lancers.

In the minutes leading up to Friday night’s 7 p.m. kickoff at home, there was a moment of silence to honor former Lakeside Principal Jason Moscowitz.

“He was a persistent champion,” Hopping said before wishing his Lancers the best of luck during Friday night’s big game.

There have been several Moscowitz tributes and remembrances 7, including the naming of the school’s gymnasium after the leader.

In other varsity football news, Temescal Canyon walked away with a 21-14 victory over Paloma Valley. Elsinore bested Perris, 55-21. Cal Lutheran beat Lucerne Valley, 20-14. Cornerstone Christian lost to Marywood-Palm Valley, 58-56.
