Lakeside High School Teacher Arrested On Child Porn Charges, Police Announce
Sheriff's officials say he was "...exchanging pornographic photos with a student via social media."

LAKE ELSINORE, CA – A Lake Elsinore teacher has been arrested on charges of child pornography after allegedly "...exchanging pornographic photos with a student via social media," the sheriff's department announced Thursday. Daniel Wilson, 30, was booked into the Murrieta jail on Tuesday, but has already been released from custody, records indicate.
Sheriff's Sgt. James Woodland says that authorities were notified of the alleged incident on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m.
"Through the investigation, a teacher at Lakeside High School was identified as suspect," Woodland said in a news release Thursday. "As a result, Daniel Wilson, 30 years old of Lake Elsinore, was arrested and booked at the Riverside County’s Southwest Detention Center for Child Pornography, and Soliciting a Minor for Child Pornography."

In response to the charges, Lake Elsinore Unified School District and Principal Dr. Peter Hopping released the following message to the community:
...This message is to notify parents and guardians, students and staff of a serious matter involving one of our faculty members at Lakeside High School.
LEUSD is fully cooperating with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department following allegations against a faculty member that surfaced Tuesday, May 2nd. The teacher is currently on leave until further notice.
To respect the rights of all persons involved, we are currently unable to publically comment on the allegations or specifics of this case.
Counseling and other confidential supports are available to any students who request these services.

Jail records on Thursday indicated that Wilson posted $10,000 bail the same day he was arrested. He's due in court on June 27.

The Lakeside High School website indicates Wilson is involved in advanced biology and has him listed as an athletic trainer as well as a dual enrollment teacher.
