Lost Road Project Underway, Road Closures Planned

It appears it was not important enough for any new agency nor the City of Wildomar to notify the public of the ongoing roadwork which may affect local travelers. The picture above is a reduced version of the one found on the City of Lake Elsinore website.

This week, the City of Wildomar began construction on much needed improvements to Lost Road. The project, funded by the City of Lake Elsinore and Wildomar, includes repairing the culverts and drainage and installing a crushed miscellaneous base similar to the section of the road between Crab Hollow and Lake View Drive.

From August 17 to 31, portions of Lost Road will be closed for construction. Most major roadwork and improvements will take place between Flowerhill Drive and Lakeview Drive. Closures will be in effect at Gafford Road/Lemon Street and Flowerhill Drive.

Emergency and public utility/services will have access at all times. Detour route instructions are shown below or are available here.

Upon completion, the cities are hopeful this will improve travel between the two cities. Funding sources for the project include AQMD and gas tax.
