Menifee Announces Trucker Restrictions For Rockport Ranch Project
Hauling operations are expected to last five months.

MENIFEE, CA — Trucks hauling building materials to and from a housing development on the east side of Menifee will be restricted to a route intended to impose the fewest impediments to residential traffic, city officials announced Tuesday.
"The city wants to eliminate frustration for drivers as much as possible during construction, and we appreciate their patience," Mayor Bill Zimmerman said. "We hope this allows members of the public to more easily find alternative routes to reach their destinations and avoid truck traffic."
Beginning Wednesday, trucks connected with Lennar's 80-acre Rockport Ranch Project will begin hauling soil materials to the site at Briggs and Old Newport roads from different locations, as grading begins for the 305-home development.

The city established a route that will preclude trucks from using Menifee Road through heavily populated areas and instead take them on a circuit that utilizes Antelope Road, between Scott and Garbani roads, then Garbani between Antelope and Briggs, and finally Briggs from Garbani to Old Newport.
Trucks will be on the dedicated route from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, officials said. The hauling operations are expected to last five months.

"This is an important project for Menifee because it will provide additional residential housing inventory to meet demand in our growing city," Councilwoman Lesa Sobek said.
