Menifee Mayor Returns To Office After Military Deployment

Mayor Pro Tem Bob Karwin filled in as mayor during Estrada's military deployment.

MENIFEE, CA — Menifee Mayor Ricky Estrada returned to the city council on Wednesday, seven months after he was deployed to active duty.

"It is great to be back home and in our beautiful country," Estrada said in a news release. "It’s important I thank all of you who reached out and shared your moral support with me while I was away. Your encouragement and support helped keep the fight going."

Estrada, a reservist in the U.S. Air Force, attended his first city council meeting since being deployed last year. Mayor Pro Tem Bob Karwin filled in as mayor during Estrada's military deployment.

"We are thankful for the Mayor’s safe return and appreciate his service to our country," said Karwin. "We look forward to reengaging him in all the great work that has been going on here in Menifee."
