Motorcyclist Seriously Injured After Crashing On Ortega Highway Near Lake Elsinore
The crash occurred on the curvy area of the highway above the lake, not far from the Lookout Roadhouse at 32107 Ortega Highway.
LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A motorcyclist sustained major injuries over the weekend after crashing on the Ortega (74) Highway, west of Lake Elsinore.
The crash was reported around 2:40 p.m. Sunday on the highway near mile marker 7.8, close to Lakeland Village, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The mile marker is situated on the curvy area of the highway above the lake, not far from the Lookout Roadhouse at 32107 Ortega Highway.

The solo motorcyclist crashed against the side of the road and was ejected, according to CHP Officer Brian Seel.
Good Samaritans reportedly stopped to help the rider whose identity was not released.

Traffic was stopped on the highway due to emergency response vehicles blocking the lanes.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
Motorcycle crashes are not uncommon on the Ortega Highway. The roadway features treacherous switchbacks, blind curves and heavy recreational traffic on weekends.
