Murrieta Teacher Accused of 'Inappropriate Conduct' With Student
The female high school science teacher has been placed on leave while police investigate an alleged relationship with a student.

A Murrieta Valley High School teacher is under investigation for suspicious interactions with a student, authorities said Tuesday.
The woman, identified by the school district as Shannon Fosgett, has taught at the school since last year. She is a science teacher, according to district website.
Murrieta Valley Unified School District officials circulated notices to parents Tuesday, notifying them of the ongoing police investigation. They also released a statement on their website.

“The teacher is on administrative leave and she will be out of the classroom indefinitely pending the outcome of the investigation,” MVUSD school officials said. “As with every district employee, all the appropriate background checks were conducted prior to her being hired.”
The police and school district were mum on what triggered the inquiry, confirming only that it involved the educator and a student. However, the district did call it an “unfortunate” situation.

Details surrounding the alleged possible connection between Fosgett and the student were not provided, but both school officials and police referred to their relationship as “inappropriate.”
