Nearly 150 Gifts Donated at Open House, Toy Drive Hosted by Melendez and Jeffries
The two local leaders hosted the event in Lake Elsinore this week.
The following was submitted for publication on behalf of Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez:
California State Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez (R-Lake Elsinore) and Riverside County District 1 Supervisor Kevin Jeffries welcomed more than 100 guests at their combined Christmas Open House and Toy Drive Tuesday at The Links at Summerly Golf Course in Lake Elsinore.
“The magic of Christmas is about friends, family and loved ones. It was my pleasure to partner with Supervisor Jeffries so we could greet and meet those we both represent,” commented Melendez. “The toy drive absolutely exceeded our expectations and we are so happy the magic of Christmas will be in many more homes because of the generosity of our guests.”

The Spark of Love Toy Drive is co-sponsored in Riverside by the Riverside County Fire Department and KABC Channel 7. Nearly 150 gifts were collected at the Melendez/Jeffries open house.
“It is gratifying to see so many involved community members come out to meet their local elected officials,” said Jeffries. “More importantly, the generous donations will brighten the day for dozens of local children who otherwise might not have had much in the way of gifts to be excited about over the holidays.”
