Nighttime Lane, Ramp Closures Scheduled On I-15 In Lake Elsinore
The shutdowns are needed as part of the $31 million I-15/Railroad Canyon Road interchange construction project.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Nighttime ramp and lane closures are scheduled next week for northbound and southbound Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore as work continues on the $31 million I-15/Railroad Canyon Road interchange project.
The nightly shutdowns will begin June 15 as early as 8 p.m. and will last through the following morning, as late as 7 a.m. (see schedule below). The work will stretch from Railroad Canyon Road in Lake Elsinore south to Bundy Canyon Road in Wildomar, according to the Riverside County Transportation Commission.
The closures are needed to re-stripe lanes and place k-rail next to the median, according to the RCTC.

Work on the project began last month; construction is expected to last 2.5 years. The project will result in several major changes at the interchange "that are intended to improve safety and reduce congestion," including two new lanes on Railroad Canyon Road through the interchange; reconstruction of northbound ramps; construction of auxiliary and deceleration lanes on I-15; and improved sidewalks and bike lanes through the interchange, according to RCTC documents.
