Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash In RivCo

Responding deputies found the pedestrian lying on the roadway with major injuries, and the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A pedestrian was killed Sunday in a hit-and-run crash in Jurupa Valley.

The crash was reported just after 2:20 a.m. Sunday in the area of Mission Boulevard and Campbell Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Responding deputies found the pedestrian lying on the roadway with major injuries, and the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the crash was under investigation, and it was unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor. The sheriff's Jurupa Valley station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team assumed the investigation.
