RivCo House Fire Near Ramona Bowl Displaces Family Of Five

HEMET, CA — A house fire near the Ramona Bowl in Hemet displaced a family of five overnight, as over 40 firefighters battled the blaze.

Just after 5:30 p.m., emergency responders from Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department arrived in the 27000 block of Ramona Bowl Road in the unincorporated area of Hemet, where the single-family dwelling was burning.

"The first arriving unit reported heavy smoke from the elevated crawl space under the house," a spokesperson for the department shared.

All residents were able to evacuate, and there were no reports of injuries to civilians or firefighters, they said.

A total of 40 firefighters were on hand to battle the blaze.

"The fire spread to the attic by 8:30 p.m., and the roof collapsed," firefighters reported. "Units have gone to a defensive mode from the exterior of the fire."

Firefighters remained at the scene for several hours to perform salvage and overhaul.
