RivCo Man Arrested After Perris Resident Fatally Shot: Sheriff
The suspect is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

PERRIS, CA — A 21-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly gunned down an acquaintance in Riverside County, authorities announced on Wednesday.
Isaac Rodriguez-Mendoza of Good Hope was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Jail on Tuesday on suspicion of murder, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Mendoza is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. His case was expected to be submitted Wednesday to the Riverside County District Attorney's Office for review.

Around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at a home in the 24000 block of Marie Street. When authorities arrived, they found 46- year-old Hugo Lomeli of Perris who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Law enforcement searched for Mendoza who they located and arrested without incident. He was transported to Perris Station and later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for murder, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The suspect and victim apparently knew one another, but a possible motive for the alleged attack and other details were unavailable Wednesday.
