RivCo Shutters Recycling Events, Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Sites
The county-sponsored events and drop-off sites were cancelled and closed due to coronavirus concerns. County landfills remain open.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — All recycling events hosted by the Riverside County Department of Waste Resources are cancelled until April 30, and the agency is also shuttering all household hazardous waste drop-off locations over the same period, starting Wednesday, as part of the county's program to reduce novel coronavirus exposure risks.
The Department of Waste Resources regularly holds free classes on composting, green cleaning and similar activities focused on making use of discarded natural materials. The workshops are typically convened on weekends.
Community cleanups are also scheduled monthly in unincorporated communities, where residents are invited to dispose of bulky items, electronics, tires and some chemicals.

Because of the countywide Executive Office directive closing most non-public safety facilities for public health, waste drop-off sites are shuttered until the end of April in Agua Mansa, Lake Elsinore and Palm Springs, officials said.
However, all county landfills will remain in operation and open to the public.
