Find out the latest in the Railroad Canyon widening project.
From the City of Lake Elsinore: This week, All American began paving the final layer of asphalt on the Westbound side of Railroad Canyon Road. Paving on the Westbound side should be completed by the end of today, May 30th.
No work is planned for Friday. Rather, crews will begin the final layer of paving on the Eastbound side of the roadway on Saturday, June 1st from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Paving will begin near Grape Street and move towards the Canyon Hills intersection.
During this final phase of paving, two lanes will be paved at a time leaving at least one lane open in each direction. Only one lane will be open on the Eastbound side of Railroad Canyon Road on Saturday. Please allow yourself extra time.

Next week, normal construction hours and ongoing closures are expected. If anything different is planned, another update will be shared.
Road Condition: We have received many complaints about rocks and gravel. A sweeper has been on site every day sweeping the roadway to reduce debris concerns. IMPORTANT!!! The speed limit posted, 35 mph, is not only for safety, but also to prevent these concerns with debris. Please drive safe and use caution.
