Ryan Villopoto swept Saturday’s Lucas Oil Motocross National at Lake Elsinore’s Motorsports Park, beating out a field of top riders in the 450 events for the crown in what has been a grueling national event.
Washington state’s Villopoto riding for Monster Energy Kawasaki reigned in both the 450 Moto 1 and 2 events Saturday.

In the 250 Moto 1 event, Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen of Germany put in a strong performance to claim victory against an elite field of contenders. But it was Colorado’s Eli Tomac riding for Geico Honda who pulled ahead in the 250 Moto 2 race and ultimately walked away with the highest series points in the 250 class.

According to media reports, both Roczen and Tomac are expected to move up to bigger bikes next year and will challenge the leader Villopoto.
Saturday’s event marked the final leg of the Lucas Oil Motocross National that brought thousands to Lake Elsinore, including television cameras crews from Fox Sports and NBC Sports.
