Small Brush Fire Threatens Lake Elsinore Home

The fire was reported in the area of Kings Highway and Terra Cotta Road​.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A brush fire that erupted Friday on the west end of Lake Elsinore burned under an acre and threatened a home before it was stopped.

The non-injury blaze was reported at 1:20 p.m. in the area of Kings Highway and Terra Cotta Road, just west of Interstate 15, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a moderate rate through vegetation surrounding a residence.

Crews quickly established containment lines and prevented the flames from reaching the property.

The fire's forward rate of spread was halted shortly before 2 p.m., and the brusher was fully contained a few minutes later. Crews were expected to remain at the scene, mopping up, until 4 p.m.
