Smoke From Chino-Area Fire Seen For Miles

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire is assisting in halting a blaze reported burning near the Mill Creek Preserve in Chino.

CHINO, CA — A column of smoke rose from a brush fire burning in Chino Valley in an area near the Mill Creek Preserve, according to reports from the area.

The Chino Valley Fire District took the lead in the 20-acre vegetation fire that ignited near Hellman and Chino Corina Road at approximately 1:30 p.m. Thursday, spokesperson Massiel De Guevara reported over X. By 4:30 p.m. it was approximately 30 percent contained.

Dubbed the Chandler Fire, multiple resources arrived to assist Chino Valley Fire, including firefighters from the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department and other cooperating agencies.

There were no immediate evacuations or injuries reported in this incident.
