Suspect Wanted In Home Gardens Killing Captured
Jail records show Eric Chaparro, 31, was booked on suspicion of murder, gang membership, and a sentence-enhancing allegation.

HOME GARDENS, CA — A suspect wanted in the Jan. 26 Home Gardens slaying of a 25-year-old man has been captured.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced Wednesday that Eric Chaparro, 31, of Corona was arrested by deputies late Saturday on Etiwanda Avenue in Jurupa Valley.
Jail records show he was booked on suspicion of murder, gang membership, and a sentence-enhancing allegation of discharging a firearm causing great bodily injury or death.

It's not clear what led investigators to Chaparro. Late last month, the sheriff's department released a suspect vehicle description and composite sketch of a man wanted in connection with the killing in the hope that the public could help track him down. At the time, Chaparro was not publicly identified as a suspect.
Around 7:57 p.m. on January 26, deputies found Antonio Anaya wounded in the 3700 block of Windsong Street in Home Gardens after receiving a call about an assault with a deadly weapon at a home.

Despite life-saving efforts, Anaya died at a hospital.
