Toddler Hospitalized in Wildomar After Near-Drowning

The young boy was hospitalized following the incident in French Valley, fire officials report.

FRENCH VALLEY, CA - A toddler was rescued Thursday from a residential swimming pool in French Valley, where he was submerged for an unknown period of time.

The near-drowning was reported about 11:30 a.m. in the 27200 block of Cresta Del Norte, just off Sierra Madre Drive, a Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman said.

"CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters are on scene of a pediatric near-drowning in French Valley; an unincorporated area of Riverside County near Temecula," a fire report stated. "A male toddler was transported by paramedics after being pulled from a backyard swimming pool..."

Officials said the boy, whose name was not released, was found by residents.

Paramedics arrived a short time later and provided treatment at the scene. It was unclear whether the child was unconscious or alert when he was taken out of the water.

The toddler was transported in stable condition to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, according to the fire department.
