U.S. Postal Service Announces Changes In Lake Elsinore
The post office is relocating.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Customers who use the Lake Elsinore Post Office will see changes taking place this week: The facility is relocating its "in-store" services to a new location on Friday, Dec. 3.
Retail, PO box and passport services that are currently provided out of the main postal facility at 500 W. Graham Avenue will be moving to an upgraded location 2.5 miles away, at 31724 Casino Drive, the U.S. Postal Service announced.
“This new facility will allow us to accommodate mail volume growth and to better serve our PO Box and retail customers,” said Lake Elsinore Postmaster Ruben Montes. “This move demonstrates the Postal Service’s commitment to the city of Lake Elsinore and to every community in the U.S.”

In order to facilitate the move to Casino Drive, the Lake Elsinore Post Office will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 2. During the closure, there will be no access to its PO boxes, and retail operations will temporarily cease. Lake Elsinore customers seeking postal retail services on Dec. 2 should visit the Wildomar Post Office at 21392 Palomar St., the nearest alternate USPS facility.
The retail hours of the relocated Lake Elsinore Post Office on Casino Drive will remain the same, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, and from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Passport services, including photo services, will be available by appointment during the facility’s retail hours.

After the move, the W. Graham Avenue location will be renovated to accommodate expanded Lake Elsinore mail carrier operations, according to the USPS.
“As outlined in USPS’s Delivering for America plan, we are modernizing and continually adapting to the changing needs of our customers,” Montes said. “Our customers are priority one, whether they’re located in the biggest cities or smaller communities such as Lake Elsinore.”
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations, according to the USPS.
