The FBI's very recent investigation of a state lawmaker has exposed an arm of
givernment (Water Districts) that are indispensable and nearly invisible to a very naive voting public. These agencies pipe water to millions of people and operate with no oversight or public scrutiny. California is state were water districts, economy and politics are intertwined yet these agencies board elections are often ignored by voters. Very little attention is paid to the six-figure salaries, generous pensions and millions of dollars in contracts they hand out. EVMWD like other water agencies throughout California even ignore the annual requests by the state controller's office to provide salary and staffing information so it can be available publicly. "They are completely under the radar," said Robert Stern, former president of the Center for Governmental Studies in Los Angeles. "Who are these people? They have have "latent powers" that allow them to siphon off 10 million dollars in the name of a boondoggle called "LEAPS" Lake Elsinore Advanced Pump Storage Project that only brought the threat of high voltage-powerlines to our pristine valley. These stake holder dollars are now forever gone and being paid back by the stakeholders thorough higher tiered water rates. "FBI agents searched Sen. Ron Calderon's two Sacramento offices last month. They also have sought to question his brother, former Assemblyman Tom Calderon, while at least one other state senator has been subpoenaed to appear before a federal grand jury in Los Angeles." Hopefully, this will shed some light on the corruption that fleeced us out of stakeholder dollars since Riverside County Prosecutors are beholden to these shisters and the prosecution trickle down effect will take place.
