Wildomar Considers Allowing Marijuana Businesses In The City

City staff has drafted the framework for regulating commercial cannabis activity in the city, and the public can weigh in.

WILDOMAR, CA — Since its incorporation on July 1, 2008, the city of Wildomar has prohibited all types of marijuana facilities and commercial cannabis businesses from operating within its borders.

Numerous cannabis operators have defied the ban and tried opening anyway — shuttering these illegal businesses has been costly for Wildomar, according to city documents.

Now the city is considering amending its code to allow some marijuana businesses in. City staff has drafted the framework for regulating commercial cannabis activity in the city, and on May 28 Wildomar City Council will take up the matter during its regularly scheduled meeting set for 6:30 p.m.
