Wildomar DUI Checkpoint Screens 722 Vehicles
During the checkpoint, deputies looked for signs that drivers were under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, including prescription meds.

WILDOMAR, CA — Deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station conducted a DUI checkpoint in Wildomar over the weekend and issued 722 vehicles were screened, the station announced.
The checkpoint was held from 8 p.m. Saturday until 2 a.m. Sunday at Clinton Keith Road and Inland Valley Drive.
The station announced the following results:

- seven citations for unlicensed drivers
- four citations for suspended license
- four driving under the influence arrests
- one felony arrest warrant served
- nine vehicles were towed
- one probation violation
During the checkpoint, deputies looked for signs that drivers were under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, including prescription medications.
Checkpoint locations are chosen based on a history of DUI crashes and arrests. Drivers charged with DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license, according to the station.

Funding for the checkpoint is being provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
