Wildomar Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Killing His Mother

WILDOMAR, CA — A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of killing his 74-year-old mother in Wildomar, authorities announced Saturday.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department responded to a suspicious death investigation on around 4:30 p.m. on July 27, 2025 in the 33000 block of Hidden Hollow Drive.

Responding deputies along with the sheriff's coroner began investigating the death before the Riverside County Sheriff's Office Central Homicide Unit assumed the investigation. The woman killed was identified as Bonnie Thompson of Wildomar.

Investigators later identified 52-year-old Justin Tyler Scott of Wildomar as the suspect, and he was taken into custody on Friday.

Scott was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of murder and elder abuse. He was expected to appear in court on Tuesday at the Murrieta Southwest Justice Center.
