Wildomar Man Killed in Weekend Crash on Bundy Canyon Road

Sheriff's officials say two men crashed into a concrete wall adjacent to the flood control channel.

WILDOMAR, CA - One man was killed and another hospitalized when their car ran into a concrete wall near the intersection of Monte Vista Drive and Bundy Canyon Road in Wildomar, sheriff's deputies report.

The driver of a 1999 Oldsmobile sedan managed to escape with minor injuries, but his passenger -- identified only as a 53-year-old Wildomar man -- was pinned inside the vehicle and had to be cut free from the wreckage, according to sheriff's Sgt. Dan Ponder. He died later at Inland Valley Medical Center.

The crash was at 7:20 p.m. Friday, but announced Sunday.

Both men were Wildomar residents.

The victims' identities were not released and the cause of the crash was under investigation.
