Wildomar's Spooktacular Halloween Home Decoration Contest Underway

The Wildomar Community Services Department invites residents to decorate their homes for the Halloween season. The spookier, the better.

WILDOMAR, CA — The Wildomar City Council Community Services Department invites all residents to participate in their Spooktacular Home Decorating Contest for 2023. All winners will be recognized at the upcoming Fall Family Fun Fair, according to Annelle Rosales's report in the city council agenda.

The contest will have different categories to compete for recognition, including:

  • The best inflatable display.
  • The most spooky display.
  • The best-themed display.

If you want to apply to have your Halloween-themed yard judged, enter by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12. The contest judging will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13 and last until Sunday, Oct. 15.

"All decorations must be visible from the street," organizers advised. Judging for each house will be based on first impression, design, and originality.

There will be one winner for each of the three categories, and yard signs bearing the city's emblem will be planted for all winners, a spokesperson for the Community Services Department said.

Winning yard displays will be photographed, and pictures placed on the city's social media platforms and will be recognized at the city's Family Fun Fair on Sat. Oct. 21 at Marna O'Brien Park in Wildomar.
