Wind Advisory in Effect for Lake Elsinore, Wildomar Through Tuesday

Wind gusts can get up to 30 mph in the area, the NWS says.

Gusty Santa Ana winds threatened to buffet most of Riverside County Tuesday, meteorologists said.

A wind advisory for Riverside area and the county’s mountains was scheduled until 6 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, which said sustained northeast to east winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour and gusts up to 55 mph were possible.

Motorists were advised to watch for broken tree limbs and other debris on roadways.

Tuesday’s wind advisory did not extend to the Coachella Valley.

  • Today: Sunny, with a high near 78. Northwest wind 15 to 20 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
  • Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 44. North wind around 5 mph becoming west in the evening.
  • Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 72. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning.
  • Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers after 10pm. Increasing clouds, with a low around 45. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
  • Christmas Day: A 20 percent chance of showers before 10am. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 57. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming north in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
  • Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 39. Breezy.
  • Friday: Sunny, with a high near 60.
  • Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 36.
