Woman's Body Found In 91 Freeway Lanes: CHP

RIVERSIDE, CA —A woman was struck and killed on the Riverside (91) Freeway in Riverside, authorities said Wednesday. Her identity has yet to be released, pending notification of next of kin.

Officers from the California Highway Patrol responded at 11:48 p.m. Tuesday to the eastbound freeway at Spruce Street where they found the victim -- a woman -- in one of the freeway's lanes, the Riverside CHP said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. It was not immediately known if the woman was a pedestrian, a driver or a passenger in a vehicle.

According to the Riverside CHP, a white SUV was pulled over on the side of the freeway but it was unclear if it was involved in the crash.
