OC Man ID'd As Kidnapper Who Shot Man In His Trunk In Front Of Deputies

IRVINE, CA — Sheriff's deputies released new details involving a kidnapping that ended with the brazen killing of a victim and the death of one of the suspects in Chino Hills Friday.

The 60-year-old victim, identified as Shukur Aikebaer, apparently stepped outside his home in the 2100 block of Monteverde Drive at around 10:15 p.m. to inspect the home's electrical panel after service to his home was interrupted, investigators said.

While leaving his home, two suspects — identified as 67-year-old Zhengfeng Bo and 66-year-old Jianquan Bo — shot and kidnapped Aikebaer, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

A neighbor told KTLA that he was startled to hear the commotion outside.

"I was in the garage and I heard two or three shots," he said. "When I heard the shots, I turned around and I heard somebody yelling, 'Help me, help me!'"

Police soon arrived on the scene after receiving multiple 911 calls and located the suspect's vehicle . They attempted to pull over the driver, but the vehicle did not immediately stop, authorities said.

Deputies pursued the two suspects in a Nissan with an Oregon license plate . A mile into the chase, the vehicle came to a stop in the 2400 block of Wandering Ridge Drive, and deputies ordered the driver and a passenger out of the car.

The passenger complied and exited the car, but the driver did not at first, authorities said.

Eventually, the driver Zhengfeng Bo, exited the Nissan and walked to the open trunk where he fired a gun into the trunk. Deputies then shot the suspect, who died at the scene, deputies said.

While the motive remains under investigation, authorities said Zhengfeng Bo knew Aikebaer through a prior working relationship.

A search warrant was served Thursday at Zhengfeng Bo's Irvine home, which he shared with Jianquan Bo, to recover evidence regarding the kidnapping, deputies said.

Jianquan Bo was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder and kidnapping. He remains in custody without bail, the Sheriff's department said.
