LAKE FOREST, CA — September has come and gone, but another heat spike is headed to Orange County.
Residents can expect scorching temperatures in inland Orange County and a return of summer beach weather along the coast, according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Watch from Friday, Oct. 2 through 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 for all inland Orange County cities, including Lake Forest.
In Lake Forest, residents can expect dangerously hot conditions, with temperatures expected to pass 100 degrees.
For the most part, Lake Forest residents can expect daytime temperatures in the mid-to-high 90s.
Nights are also expected to be warmer than usual, with temperatures ranging from the mid-to-low 70s.
"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors," the National Weather Service advised. "Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles, as car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes."
