LAKE FOREST, CA — One Lake Forest City Council incumbent will return for another term, and residents will see at least two new faces join the dais.

The news comes after incumbent and District 2 candidate Benjamin Yu maintained his lead in polls through Wednesday afternoon with 39.97 percent of the vote.

Challenger Becky Keene trailed Yu with 36.64 percent of the vote.

In District 3, Tom Grable maintained a strong lead over Anil Patel through Wednesday morning. Grable secured 60.7 percent of the vote, while Patel secured 39.3 percent.

In District 4, the race was tight — newcomer Shari Rhodes managed to hold onto a 50.32 percent lead, or 2,368 votes.

Her opponent, Amy Stevens, trailed closed behind with 49.68 percent of the vote, or 2,338 votes.

Most Lake Forest residents were against the passing of Measure F, which would create a four-year waiting period before someone who has served two terms could seek election back to the council.

As of Wednesday afternoon, 53.45 percent of residents — or 12,212 residents — voted against the measure. Those in favor reached 46.55 percent, or 10,635 voters.

Democratic incumbent Dave Min maintained his lead against former gubernatorial candidate Jenny Rae Le Roux, battling to keep the seat representing California's 47th Congressional District.

The seat — which Min has held since 2025 — has historically been a Republican stronghold that, in recent years, became a swing district on the coast of Orange County.

Min, a former state legislator, is seeking his second term in Congress after having been first elected in 2024 to an open seat. During June's primary election, Min received 54.4 percent of the vote.

Le Roux is an entrepreneur who serves as director of CAL DOGE, according to The Orange County Register. According to the newspaper, the group is inspired by the federal initiative that focuses on identifying ways to "reduce or eliminate the size and scope of state agencies."

Le Roux received 25 percent of the vote during the June primary, landing her in second.

The 47th Congressional District includes Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Tustin, and a portion of Newport Beach and Mission Viejo.
