2 Women Die in Crash at San Carlos Intersection
One of the elderly women ran a red light at Navajo Road and Park Ridge Boulevard, San Diego police said. Breaking.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Two senior citizen women were killed early Friday morning in a collision at a San Carlos intersection, police said.
The fatal crash was reported at 6:39 a.m. at the intersection of the 6700 block of Navajo Road and the 7000 block of Park Ridge Boulevard, near Patrick Henry High School.
San Diego police Officer Frank Cali said the driver of a Toyota Prius, an 88-year-old woman, was traveling east on Navajo when she ran a red light at the intersection, hitting a Toyota Camry driven by a 76-year-old woman who was traveling north on Park Ridge.

Paramedics arrived and found both women gravely injured inside their vehicles. The women were rushed to local hospitals, where they were pronounced deceased.
The intersection remained closed until around 11 a.m. as the San Diego Police Department Traffic Division investigated the fatal collision.
