Alvarado Road Partially Reopened as SDG&E Work Continues
The utility company is upgrading natural gas lines in the area.
LA MESA, CA — A section of Alvarado Road that was closed for three days this week was partially reopened Friday night.
The closure of both lanes between 7407 Alvarado and 7601 Alvarado — near Bob Stall Chevrolet — was to accommodate San Diego Gas & Electric crews who are upgrading natural gas lines in the area, according to Hanan Eisenman, a spokesman for SDG&E.
The roadway was reopened at 9 p.m. Friday, with flagmen directing traffic through one lane.

"We do not anticipate any further closures involving both lanes after that time," Eisenman told Patch. "Next Monday as work resumes, the road will be open with flagmen directing traffic through one lane at all times."
He said construction, which residents were provided notice of, is expected to be completed in the location in approximately three weeks.
