LA MESA, CA — A candlelit, open-air concert will illuminate Mount Helix Park with Halloween-themed music this weekend.
Set against a backdrop of thousands of candles, the program will blend symphonic staples such as "Danse Macabre," "Night on Bald Mountain," "In the Hall of the Mountain King" and "Funeral March of a Marionette" with selections from "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and the "Stranger Things" theme, plus Michael Jackson's "Thriller."
Performances are planned for Mount Helix Park, 4901 Mount Helix Drive at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Organizers said the "Candlelight Open Air: Halloween Classics" concerts aim to pair familiar, spooky melodies with a dramatic setting.
Attendees should plan for outdoor conditions and arrive early for seating.
