LA MESA, CA — Christ Lutheran Church and School plans to honor veterans and active-duty military personnel during a Veterans Day chapel service Tuesday.
The service is scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church and School, 7929 La Mesa Blvd.
A reception honoring veterans and active-duty service members is expected to follow the chapel service.
The gathering is intended to recognize the service and sacrifices of military personnel while bringing the community together ahead of Veterans Day, which falls on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Christ Lutheran School, which serves military-connected families, has been recognized by the California Department of Education as a Purple Star School for its support of students from military families.
