Goodbye, Old Police Station
Now, I'm watching as its demolition begins. I understand the lot will remain vacant for a while. Progress sure can be sad, huh?

It was 1970 something. I was just a spud ... and I was crying because I discovered my bike had been stolen. My dad drove my brothers and me down to the La Mesa Police Department where we were escorted to the basement to see if my bike was there. OMG! We were totally surprised by how many bikes were there!
In case you're wondering, nope, my bike wasn't there. But my new bike got licensed/registered with the La Mesa Police Department.
That's my first memory of the old building. Everytime I saw the winding walkway up to the front door with the white wooden railing, it brought me back to my visit in hopes of getting my bike back.
