Modest 'April Showers' Offer Little Improvement Toward Annual Precipitation Deficit
Weather Window: April 2012 Summary and Extremes for La Mesa
As a whole, April was fairly lackluster weather-wise in La Mesa, except for a few slightly elevated daytime temperatures early in the month. Rainfall (1.06 inches) was unsurprisingly not significant enough to relieve our ongoing deficit compared to years past, and little more should be expected as we push into a generally dryer time of year when the jet stream typically stays north of us.
The final few days of April teased of what lies ahead for early May: largely overcast skies with likelihood for sprinkles in the late-night and early-morning hours. Increased afternoon clearing may be anticipated toward the end of the first week of the month.
