Murdock Elementary Halloween Carnival Brings Mystery and Magic
Murdock Elementary hosted its annual Halloween Happening carnival with hundreds in attendance.
Murdock Elementary was transformed into a mix of fun and freaky for its annual PTA sponsored Halloween Happening Carnival. Pint sized poltergeists mixed with a large number of costume clad adults embracing the spirit of the season.
The event, which provides a safe and fun Halloween environment for the school community, has consistently proved to be one of the most popular of the school year. Hundreds of children and parents attended this years carnival. The PTA was very fortunate to have Viejas come forward to sponsor the inclusion of a carnival ride area.
The Halloween Happening is coordinated by a team of dedicated parent volunteers with assistance from interested school staff to help raise money for classrooms or programs impacted by budget cuts.

Murdock Elementary Principal, John Ashley echoed this enthusiasm; “The Halloween Happening was a great success! It is a wonderful example, yet again, of Murdock parents and staff working together to make a difference for our children.”

The carnival featured games, rides, Lazer Tag, two inflatable obstacle course/sides, a climbing wall, cake walk, trunk or treat, food stands, and for the first time in several years, a haunted house. The haunted house was hosted by 6th grade and was constructed by a very dedicated (and creative) team of 6th grade parents and students.
