This morning as we reported for work we had 2 new volunteers to come in so we did a quick training for them and took the afternoon off. We took of for a tour of The Precious Moments Chapel. Come to find out it was less than 5 miles from where we're staying. Could have spent hours there it was so relaxing. It is set in a beautiful country side in Carthage, MO.
While there my head began to itch so I reach up to scratch and felt something, Dave took a look and it was a tick YUK! Now I am afraid to take our dog for a walk. We had been checking each time we take her out, now I also get checked.
Rain is in the forcast for the next 4 days, just heard the first clap of thunder and a few drops hitting. The only thing in common with Spring Valley and Joplin when it rains is that it is wet. It is usually very hard with hail ,thunder, lightening with high winds here and very scary while sleeping in an RV.

On Sat we are joining up with the Joplin Lions Club, they are having a barbecue that had been postponed on Memorial Day. Tickets had already been sold for it so they need to produce. They have given us permission the park our RV at their building. It is just a few blocks from City Hall which will make it very convient for us for the remainder of our time here.
Dave had to make a visit to the local Eye Dr. He had gotten something in his eye and it was very painful, the DR said he had a road map to San Diego in it (scratches), he prescribed an anitbotic with steroids. Dave is much better already. The Dr's office had sustained lots of damages and had just reopened. Windows blown out and blew the records storage room away. Across the street most of the homes had the roofs gone and all the windows were broken, the Walgreens we used was setup in a temporary building. The main building had been completely destroyed and this was in the outskirts of the tornado.
