The people of The Table: The United Church of Christ of La Mesa invite you to share the blissful harmonies of The Starfolk. Brian Tighe and Allison LaBonne’s sound is melodic, moody psych-folk pop, rich with harmonies and adventurous chord progressions. Subtly out of this world! Tighe’s “penchant for setting beautiful vocal melodies atop unusual chord progressions” (Rob Van Alstyne, City Pages) was described by Jeremy Messersmith as “like doing ballet in a minefield.”
Opening the program will be HOLLY! Sometimes described as PJ Harvey meets The Police – or Suzanne Vega-ish, singer-songwriter Holly Muñoz, who hails from El Paso, Texas, recently completed a record with John Vanderslice at San Francisco’s Tiny Telephone.
